One person. That’s the feature and the risk.

Alrai is me. There is no team page because there is no team, and no account manager between you and the person doing the work.

Six years of watching good businesses buy bad websites.

I spent those years in content and communications — first at a B2B agency, then inside a Malaysian fintech. Both taught me the same thing from opposite directions: the gap between what a website costs and what it actually does for the business is enormous, and almost nobody buying one has the information to tell the difference.

Agencies aren’t villains in this. Their price is honest arithmetic for their structure — five specialists and the coordination between them. But that structure is most of the invoice, and for a founder who needs a good site rather than a large process, it’s the wrong thing to be paying for.

AI closed the gap. Not by writing the site — by removing the handoffs. One person can now do the design, the build, the words and the search work at a quality that used to need a room. So the money goes into the work, and the timeline is three weeks instead of three months.

Four things I’ll hold to.

  • I’ll tell you if you don’t need me. If a RM60 template does your job, that’s the advice you’ll get on the call.
  • Prices are on the website. All of them. If a number isn’t published, it isn’t a real price.
  • The site becomes yours. At the end of the term — code, content and domain, transferred at no charge. Leaving is a handover, not a negotiation.
  • No vanity metrics. Reports say what changed and what it did. Impressions that lead nowhere aren’t a result.
One person — what happens if you’re ill, or gone?

The fair version of this answer: a solo studio is a real risk and you should weigh it. What I do about it is practical — the site is built on standard static files with no proprietary lock-in, the code lives in a repository you can be given access to on request, and it’s hosted somewhere any competent developer can take over in an afternoon. If I disappeared tomorrow you would have an inconvenience, not a hostage situation. Weigh that against an agency where the person who actually knows your site is a junior who may leave without anyone telling you.

If AI can do it, why not just do it myself?

You can, and some people should. What AI has made cheap is production — generating a layout, drafting copy, producing an image. What it hasn’t made cheap is judgement: knowing which page a buyer needs to see second, why a section is losing people, what to cut, which of four plausible structures actually converts. The tools collapsed the cost of making things, not the cost of knowing what to make. If you enjoy that part and have the hours, genuinely do it yourself. Most founders have neither.

Why should I trust a studio nobody has heard of?

Start small and make me prove it. It begins at RM499 a month and you see the whole site before it goes live. I’d rather earn the bigger plans than talk you into one.

Talk to the person who’ll do the work.

Which is the same person you’d be emailing in eight months’ time.
