Terms of service.

Plain-language summary, which forms part of the agreement rather than sitting beside it. A signed engagement letter governs each specific project; where the two differ, the engagement letter wins.

The service

Alrai provides website design and build, hosting, maintenance, search optimisation and related services on a monthly retainer. What is included at each tier is set out on the pricing page and confirmed in your engagement letter.

Term and cancellation

Retainers run for an initial twelve months, reflecting that the website build is included in the monthly fee rather than charged separately. After the initial term the agreement continues month to month and either party may end it with 30 days’ written notice.

If you cancel within the initial term, the outstanding balance of that term becomes payable, less any months not yet begun where we agree in writing to waive them. We would rather part on good terms than enforce a clause.

Ownership

The site becomes yours at the end of the initial term. On completion of the twelve months — or on settlement of the outstanding balance if you exit earlier — all rights in the design, the code and the content produced for you transfer to you, and we transfer the domain at no charge. Until that point the site is built, hosted and maintained by us as part of the retainer.

We retain the right to display the work in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.

Third-party components — fonts, stock imagery, plugins, hosting platforms — remain subject to their own licences, which pass to you where transferable.

Your responsibilities

You provide accurate business information, and you warrant that any content you supply is yours to use. Where a project stalls awaiting materials from you, timelines move accordingly and the retainer continues.

Revisions and unlimited edits

The build includes two rounds of changes. Further rounds before launch are quoted as additional work.

After launch, “unlimited edits” covers changes to pages that already exist, with no cap. It does not cover new pages, full redesigns or new functionality, which are quoted as add-ons at the published rates. If a request stops being maintenance and starts being a new project, we will say so before doing the work rather than after.

Payment

Retainers are invoiced monthly in advance. Add-ons are invoiced on completion. Invoices are due within 14 days. Persistent non-payment allows us to suspend services after written notice.

Liability

We take care to keep your site available, secure and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific search rankings, mention by AI systems, or particular commercial outcomes. Our total liability is limited to the fees paid in the three months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
